PROCEDURE · EYEBROW TRANSPLANT

Eyebrow transplant. The hardest small procedure in the field.

Eyebrow transplant is the smallest procedure in the catalog by graft count and the most demanding by angle precision. Typical case: 150-400 grafts per side. Each one has to be placed at near-zero angle, replicating the natural direction the eyebrow grows. There is no procedure where surgeon experience matters more relative to total session size.

When eyebrow transplant is the right move.

Most cases are: over-plucked eyebrows from years of thinning that didn't grow back, scar coverage after injury or surgery, and congenitally thin or absent eyebrows. Less common but real: gender-affirming work, alopecia areata cases that have stabilised (after dermatology workup confirms it's safe to transplant on top), and mature patients losing eyebrow hair as part of general thinning.

Graft counts are small: 150-250 per side for a fill-in, 300-400 per side for a full rebuild. Trim and shaping are usually needed every 4-6 weeks for the first year as the transplanted hair grows in (it's scalp hair, so it grows longer than natural eyebrow hair).

The price comparison.

Per-graft pricing is for the procedure only. Travel (flights + hotel + transfers) adds $400-3,000 depending on origin and destination. Final pricing comes from the surgeon after photo review.

Why this is harder than it looks.

The angle on an eyebrow graft is essentially flat against the skin — far flatter than anywhere else on the body. Get it wrong by 10 degrees and the hair sticks out. The direction matters too: eyebrows grow in a specific pattern (medial heads angle slightly upward, the body angles outward, the tail angles slightly downward) that has to be replicated in three dimensions.

This is why eyebrow transplant is a sub-specialty within hair restoration. A subset of our partner clinics specialise in eyebrow work — they're the ones Felix steers eyebrow cases toward. The others can do it but aren't specifically known for it.

How long does the trip take?

Shortest of the transplant procedures: 3-4 days. Day 1: arrival, design consult (this matters — the shape gets drawn on with surgical pen and refined by the surgeon), blood work. Day 2: procedure (3-4 hours). Day 3: first wash, light indoor recovery. Day 4: final check, fly home. Recovery is the fastest of any procedure — most patients are back to work after 5-7 days with mild scabbing and redness.

What we coordinate.

Same coordination structure. The clinic shortlist for eyebrow work is shorter than for FUE — we'll typically suggest 1-2 clinics rather than 3, because the specialists in our network are a smaller subset.
