Beard transplant. Density, where genetics didn't deliver.

A beard transplant is FUE applied to the face. Grafts are taken from the same donor area at the back and sides of the scalp and placed into the cheeks, jawline, moustache, or chin to fill patchy or sparse beards. Typical case: 800-2,500 grafts. The procedure is shorter than a hairline transplant, and recovery is faster — but the angle work matters more, because beard hair grows in directions a head transplant can fudge.

What a beard transplant actually fixes.

The most common cases are patchy beards (genetic gaps in the cheek or jawline) and thin moustaches. Less common but worth flagging: scar coverage (acne or surgical scars in the beard zone), reconstructive cases (post-trauma or post-burn), and gender-affirming work for transgender men.

Graft counts vary widely depending on what you're trying to achieve: 600-1,000 grafts for moustache fill-in, 1,200-1,800 for cheek and jawline fill-in, 2,000-2,500 for a "full reconstruction" case where the beard is largely absent. Most patients are on the lower end of that range.

The price comparison.

Why beard work is technically harder than head work.

Each beard graft has to be placed at a very specific angle and direction to look natural. Beard hair grows down-and-out at the cheeks, down at the chin, and in different directions in the moustache and goatee zones. Get the angles wrong and the result looks wiry, brushed-against-the-grain, or just visually off.

This is why beard transplant is a specialty within hair restoration. The clinics in our network that do beard work well are the ones whose surgeons have specifically built up a portfolio of beard cases — not the ones who treat it as a same-as-hairline side gig. Felix will steer you toward those specifically.

How long does the trip take?

Beard transplant is shorter than head FUE: 3-4 days total. Day 1: arrival, design consult, blood work. Day 2: procedure (4-5 hours for typical cases). Day 3: first wash, indoor recovery. Day 4: final check, fly home.

The recovery is faster than head FUE — most patients can go back to work after 7-10 days with a slightly red, slightly scabby beard zone that looks like a sunburn. Full beard growth takes 6-9 months.

What we coordinate.

Same coordination structure as the other procedures: clinic shortlist matched to your case, video consults, hotel booking, transfers, WhatsApp support, post-procedure follow-up at month 3, 6, 12. The match shortlist will skew toward the beard specialists in our network — surgeons across Istanbul, Budapest, and Tijuana with documented eyebrow / beard volume.
