TURKEY · ISTANBUL

Istanbul. The world's hair city.

No city does more hair transplants than Istanbul. By a long way. The best per-graft pricing on earth — and, for the right clinic, the best surgeon volume too. The trade-off is the flight: 10–12 hours from most of the US. For a 3,000-graft case, it's worth it. For PRP, it isn't.

WHY ISTANBUL

Why this city, specifically.

Istanbul has the highest hair-transplant volume of any city in the world. That sounds gimmicky until you do the math: volume produces specialists. The surgeons here see more cases per week than most US surgeons see per quarter, and the technical skill — particularly on the things that matter most for results, like graft handling time and angle replication around the hairline — reflects that.

The other thing Istanbul has, at the top end, is ISHRS-affiliated surgeons at a rate that would surprise you. The clinics we vet have at least one principal surgeon trained at major European or US hair-restoration programmes. The patient base at the top clinics is heavily international (UK, German, Russian, Gulf, increasingly American), and the experience has been built around that.

The downside is the flight: 10–12 hours from most US cities, often with a connection. The other downside is that the bottom of the Istanbul market is genuinely bad — clinic mills running technician-only operations under a doctor's signature, churning 30+ cases a day with no surgeon involvement. The "Turkey hair transplant" reputation problem comes from those clinics, not the good ones. The whole point of going through us is that we don't list any of them.

A SAMPLE WEEK

Five days, one new hairline.

A typical FUE trip — 2,500–3,500 grafts, single session. The exact schedule depends on graft count and your surgeon's protocol.

DAY 01

Arrival, photo review, hairline design

Airport transfer to your hotel in Levent or Etiler (clinic-walking distance). Afternoon: clinic visit, photographs, hairline design with surgeon, donor-area assessment, blood work, pre-op briefing. Evening: free for an early dinner.

DAY 02

Procedure day

FUE day. 6–8 hours total: anaesthetic, extraction (under-microscope), implantation. Lunch break in the middle. You walk out with a head bandage, instructions, and a follow-up schedule. The discomfort is much milder than people expect.

DAY 03

First wash + indoor recovery

First wash performed at the clinic — done by a technician who'll walk you through the at-home routine. Indoor day. Slow walk through Bebek if you're up for it. Soft food, no exertion, no caffeine until cleared.

DAY 04

Second wash + slow culture

Second wash. The donor area starts to look better. Hat-covered slow sightseeing — Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, a long lunch in Kadıköy across the Bosphorus. No sun direct on the scalp, no tight headwear.

DAY 05

Final check, fly home

Morning check at the clinic — scab progress, post-op questions, written care plan with a Crown Atlas-side WhatsApp contact for follow-up. Optional third wash. Airport transfer. Sleep a lot on the flight home.

OUR CLINIC NETWORK

The kind of clinic we'll match you with.

We don't publish our network roster — patient privacy and partner agreements both run cleaner that way. What we will say is the bar:

01 · CREDENTIALS

Surgeon-led, verified, high-volume.

Lead surgeons trained at recognised institutions — ISHRS-affiliated, US/EU dermatology and cosmetic-surgery residencies, or Turkey's leading hair-restoration programmes. Verified credentials, multi-year track record on the specific procedure, transparent monthly graft volumes. No technician-led operations under a doctor's signature.

ISHRS · TRAINING PIPELINE · VOLUME SIGNAL
02 · EQUIPMENT & TECHNIQUE

The specifics that actually move outcome.

Micro-FUE punch sizes appropriate to graft type, sapphire-blade incisions or DHI implanter pens (where genuinely indicated, not as upsells), microscope-assisted graft preparation, in-house graft counting, donor-area density-preservation protocols. Out-of-body graft time disciplined to under six hours on a 3,000-graft session.

MICRO-FUE · SAPPHIRE / DHI · GRAFT-HANDLING
03 · PATIENT EXPERIENCE

Treated like a patient, not a tourist.

English-fluent treatment coordinator. Written procedure plan and itemised graft-count quote before you fly. Pre-booking video consult with the lead surgeon — not a sales rep. Multi-year reviews from English-speaking patients across multiple platforms. And critically, willing to refuse cases that aren't suitable (Norwood-7 single-session, donor area too thin) — a clinic that says yes to everything is selling the trip, not the outcome.

VIDEO CONSULT · WRITTEN QUOTE · HONEST DECLINE

Felix matches you to the right clinic in the network based on your case complexity, budget, and travel preferences. The matched clinic reaches out within 24 hours of your discovery chat.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

What our coordination covers.

  • Clinic shortlisting and matching based on your hair-loss pattern, budget, and case complexity.
  • Video consultations with the matched clinics before you book — usually 15–20 minutes each, photo review included.
  • Hotel booking at one of our 4★ or 5★ partner hotels within walking distance of your clinic, at negotiated rates.
  • Airport transfers on arrival and departure.
  • Clinic-to-hotel transfers on the procedure day and wash days when needed.
  • WhatsApp support from your specialist throughout the trip — language help, recovery questions, post-op concerns.
  • Post-procedure follow-up at month 3, 6, and 12 — the growth window where most patients want a quiet check-in.

Not included: flights (we recommend, but you book), travel insurance (which you should buy), and the procedure itself, which you pay directly to the clinic on the procedure day.
